Solve-ent

Report a problem

Pick whatever is closest. There is nowhere here to type anything, which is deliberate — it means there is nothing in the report about you.

What went wrong

What gets sent

This is the whole report. Nothing else is collected.

How to send it

  1. Press Copy this report.
  2. Paste it into a message to whoever you got this from. An email works; so does anything else you would send a message in.
  3. That is all. There is nothing to explain — the report says what Solve-ent was doing.

Solve-ent cannot send anything itself. It has no way to reach the internet while you use it, which is also why it keeps working when the wifi does not.

Calculator

It hands back the whole number and never rounds it. How many figures an answer is entitled to is one of the things this is for, so that part is left to you.

How to keep it on your home screen

It works offline once it has been opened, and it can sit next to your other apps.

How it looks and sounds

These stay on this device. They are never sent anywhere, never written into anything you hand in, and never shown to anybody else.

What changed

Every release, and what is still missing from each.

Where the questions come from

They are worked out on this device, from a starting key, using constants taken from published reference values — the Avogadro constant, molar volumes, standard unit conversions. Nothing is downloaded and nothing is looked up while you work. The same key produces the same questions on every device, which is what lets a group work from one thing written on a board.

What it stores

Your settings, and which version you last saw this panel for. That is all, and it stays on this device. There is no account, no sign-in, no cookie and no analytics. If work is ever set with a number attached to it, that number is a number somebody assigned — never a name, and never anything that says who you are.

Something is wrong with it

The flag in the bar at the top opens a report you can copy and send on. It says which version and which kind of device, which is usually the whole answer.
